aftercare instructions

Why is aftercare so important?

Aftercare is crucial to minimize irritation, reduce the risk of infection, and ensure the skin heals properly. The following instructions will help soothe the skin, prevent ingrown hairs, and maintain smooth results, making your waxing experience more comfortable and effective time after time!

The first 24 hours

Please AVOID heavy exercise (cardio, HIIT, spin, pilates, etc.), tanning + excess sun exposure, pools, saunas, hot tubs, tight clothing, and intimate contact for AT LEAST 24 hours to prevent bacteria entering the hair follicles.

After 24 hours

You may start to EXFOLIATE 2-3x a week (not everyday) AFTER 24 hours post wax using a chemical exfoliant only. My #1 favorite chemical exfoliant right now is SweetSpot Labs Buff & Brighten exfoliating pads. It prevents ingrowns from forming and brightens any dark spots from past ingrowns! Go to and get 10% off your first purchase!  Bare Skn 101 recommends that you DO NOT use any manual exfoliators (dry brush, exfoliating gloves, scrubs) for the first week. You may alternate using manual and chemical exfoliators on the 2nd week post wax.

Do this on the daily

MOISTURIZE your vulva area morning and night with a non pore clogging oil/lotion like my fave hydrating vulva serum by SweetSpot Labs or Oil Exlir by Ina Labs!

Less friction the better

Try avoid wearing tight underwear or clothing for a long period of time. Go commando often! If you're not quite comfortable doing that, try wearing no underwear just a night while sleeping.

Got an ingrown hair?

If those annoying ingrowns decide to pop up, I know the perfect product to GET RID of them in 3 days! (Yes, girl! 3 days!!) It's the Bikini & Body Bump Eraser by SweetSpot Labs. Use this product as a spot treatment.
